baby newly born - 12-15-2006, 06:00 AM

anyone with herpes may be afraid that her baby may be unhealthy, but i am here to tell you that unless your baby appears to have a problem, expect the best and concentrate your energy on getting used to the new member of the family. "The vast majority of babies born to mothers with genital herpes are healthy, happy babies."

for more about this:
If the baby's mother has genital herpes, it is worth keeping a close eye on the baby for several weeks after birth, just to make sure no infection develops. Symptoms usually start in the first 14 days of life and may develop any time in the first month.

As long as a mother takes the neccesary precautions before and during her pregnancy the chances are good for a healthy baby, and it is important that the pregnant woman express any concerns with her doctor during her pregnancy because worrying about things and causing a lot of stress on herself is not good for her baby.

I think mother's will worry even when they don't mean to, just out of fear, but it is important that the mother take precautions, that we she has a better chance of having a healthy baby.
