Valtrex and Drinking -

Could I still drink alcohol, smoke pot, etc when I'm on valtrex? I asked my doctors asst and she told me to look it up b/c she was too damn lazy to do her job. Do I have to quit drinking forever? What if I do mushrooms or smoke pot? Will the antibiotics like valtrex not function anymroe?
