The best way to tell someone? - 12-14-2006, 03:54 PM

When it comes time to start talking with a potential partner about herpes what do you feel is the best way to approach the subject with that person?

Ah,it is really a problem, especially to tell you future partner, you do not know how would he or she react. But anyway,it is right to tell the truth, and the way to tell is another problem, which is really hard to handle.I hope the partner will be tolerable enough for such kind of a thing.

I agree, I think many people have a hard time figuring out how to bring the subject up and where the right place would be to do it, I think a lot of people have this concern.

Once it's clear it's going to get intimate would be a good time. Just stop and tell them you have something they need to know. The way I told my future wife was to say I have something she didn't want but could catch and affects whether we go any further or not. I have Herpes. Let them make the next move.

You have to go slow and be totally honest and up front about it. After six years, I finally met someone that I was interested in and thats what I did. The problem was that I had to transfer jobs and that forced to tell her rather quickly.

Since I'm in the Us and she is still in Germany it doesn't look good. Still, I'd rather have told her and let her decide rather than acting as my ex-wife did.

Thank you for sharing, I think it can be very helpful for people to know how others have handled this situation. I think the first time having to tell a person may be the worst as you have no idea how to even bring the subject up.

Honesty and forthwrightness should always be on your mind! Tell then the moment you start feeling things about this person.

Be up front and confident that even if they reject you That means you are that much closer to the right person!
